let me introduce myself…

Texas girl born and raised, daughter of a cinematographer and a college professor, I call the Texas Hill Country my home base in past and present tense.

A graduate of TCU in Advertising & Public Relations, I moved to Austin and began working on the production side of TV, live music events, Commercial and Film projects. From ACL Festival and Lollapalooza to episodic reality TV featuring the wild world and ladies of the Texas Rollerderby, there was never a dull moment and never enough sleep.

Later, I transitioned into post-production, working for one of the most established post-production companies in Texas, 1080, inc. As an Executive Producer, I oversaw all projects with needs ranging from editorial, motion graphics, 3D animation, compositing, color correction or a combination of all of the above. Our clients included Southwest Airlines, BMW, Discovery Channel, History Channel, Goodyear Tires, and the US Airforce, to name a few, and we worked hard to keep on budget, schedule and deliver work we were all proud of.

In 2011, I left the Advertising/Production world to pursue my love of photography full time - I focused on growing my freelance business and stumbled into working as the creative assistant to Texas legend, screenwriter, photographer and novelist, Bill Wittliff. It was the greatest privilege of my life to spend my days laughing and learning with one of the greatest creative champions of our time - I miss him everyday.

In 2015, I pivoted and joined a growing creative team at Kelly's Kids, an established children's clothing company, as their lead photographer and visual director. In that role, I photographed and edited all lifestyles and flat shots for their brands - as well as produced, shot and edited videos for supplemental marketing content.

In 2018, I added Director of Creative Content to my title and responsibilities, leading the creative team in content management and creative strategy for three separate brands under the Kelly's Kids company umbrella - which included additional brands Eleanor Rose and Wildflowers Clothing.

And now, in 2022, I am SO looking forward to the next adventure…

Onward,
Kate
